    Default Withhold extra County Tax

Indiana has State Tax and County Tax. I have employees who want a certain amount extra State tax and another amount extra County tax withheld from their pay. I only find Extra Withholding for Federal and for State. How can I specify this?

    thank you

County taxes are usually a flat percentage like SUTA, FUTA, FICA and Medicare and taxing authorities frown upon not withholding the exact amount. That is why we do not allow withholding extra for those items.

Ok so you are saying there is no way to withhold extra county taxes even though the employee wants additional money put toward their county taxes so they do not own more at the end of the year along with their extra State taxes which you do have the place to do that. In Indiana it seems as experience has shown we seem to always owe at the end of the year on our state and county taxes.

    thanks

Wait, did you set up your county tax as a miscellaneous deduction or did you create a Local Tax record for the county tax?

If you set up a miscellaneous deduction, you can increase the amount in the employee settings.

If you create a local tax record, you can edit the deduction when paying and press the tab key to recalculate the net pay before saving the record.

Then you can do what I explained in my last reply:

"If you create a local tax record, you can edit the deduction when paying and press the tab key to recalculate the net pay before saving the record."
