I used the sample company and want to make a copy and rename it now.
Use the Windows Find tool to locate the paywin.dxi file. See if it is in the "My Documents" Folder or under "C:\Program Files\Payroll Payroll\" folder and then use the appropriate instructions below.
Instructions for My Documents:
Double Click on the "My Documents" Icon on your Desktop.
Locate the "PayWindow Data Files" Icon and Double Click on it.
Locate the "paywin.dxi" file Icon and Right Click on it. (NOTE: if you do not see file extension ".dxi", look under the "Type" column as it will display "PayWindow File".)
From the pop up menu select "Copy".
Click in the white space to the right of the existing filename and Right Click.
Select "Paste".
A new file will appear named "Copy of paywin.dxi".
Right Click on the "Copy of paywin.dxi" text and select "Rename" from the pop up menu.
Type in a new name that is descriptive of your company name. An example is Acme Plumbing.dxi.
Then start up PayWindow and select "File" and "Open Company" from the menu and locate and open the newly named copy of your database and use that database from now on.
