The 401K deduction only affects the Federal Tax. Should it not also affect the FICA calculation ?
The FICA calculation still seems to be the same on the payslip regardless of whether 401K contribution
was made or not. Is this a bug ?

When you set up a non-taxable deduction, you need to talk to your accountant to find out which tax is exempt and which is not as the options are used that you select when setting it up.
See the instructions in the help file for the check boxes while are in the lower half of the setup screen (Number 6) on this page in the help file. DO NOT assume that a non-taxable deduction is exempt from all taxes be it federal, state or local as it varies.
